Are book stores like Easons still big in Ireland?  They're dwindling rapidly here.

Big Waterstones in Belfast city centre always seems busy.

Waterstones have started selling Kindles in store.

I make a point of supporting the independent book stores here.

Borders are gone completely, that was an awful blow.

Barnes and Noble are hanging in there.  They've closed some stores, what's left have been converted to selling undownloadable goods like board games and educational toys, space for a showroom for Nook e-readers, and a decent sized coffee shop.  The amount of space taken up by actual printed books has shrunk.  Still enormous stores though, if I were them I'd give up on the printed books altogether and move into smaller premises.
