The Irish News reported this morning that ancient Ulster Scots writing was found in a salt mine near Carrickfergus in County Antrim. The writings were over 10,000 years old.

Anyone remember the Irish News report years ago about the solution that had been agreed to the Garvaghy Rd dispute? There was going to be a tunnel under the road that Orangemen could march through with miner's lamps attached to their bowler hats.

There was one a few years before that reporting that Mikhail Gorbachev had made an unannounced visit to Armagh and addressed a crowd including Seamus Mallon and others.  That one actually got me.
