Well, major in NBC's inability or unwillingness to bother with even 12 year-old summer essay levels of fact-checking: "...the players' first visit was just after coach Pat Gilroy won the All-Ireland championship, ten days after the storm."

Pat knowing about this storm back in 2011 and not giving them a heads-up was a bit of a dick move.

As usual, GAA players continue to show themselves to be one of the most exceptional groups of athletes in the world.

I liked they pronounced Donal Oohg.  Well done lads.
I have more respect for a man

means what he says...

Nice to see them on it, but that was as sloppy a report as I've ever seen.

The couple of seconds of hurling footage was what I liked. It'll be interesting to see if there's any effect on the hits on my youtube channel.

Eamonn,  why did you have to disable the comments on the football vid?
Always enjoyed reading the views of people from other countries that were new to the game.
I can only assume that like most youtube vids, the comments gradually descended into racist nonsense etc.
If you were any use you'd be playing.

The football vid was attracting a lot of negative comments, Jinx.  Most of it was idiots complaining that they'd heard that tune on a lot of other youtube videos (how was i supposed to know what people hear when they spend their entire day watching cat videos?) but quite a few of them were from people saying what a stupid game it is.  In the end I got fed up deleting three comments every day so I just disabled them.

The hurling vids never have that problem.  The only problem there is a few idiot Irish teenagers claiming that nobody in Ireland calls the hurley a "stick".

But yes, it is interesting to hear the views of people who have never seen the game before.  The reaction to the hurling videos are almost unanimously positive.
