Looking for a weekend away in July or August and looking for a good Irish music festival or Irish folk festival (in Ireland) - any ideas would be more than welcomed!

Well that's always a good starting point!
The Fleadh mainly caters for trad, any good folk/ballad festivals? Or can you get much folk singing at the Fleadh too?

Here's a good one, not as big as years gone past but a good weekend of music.

I seen one advertised, and I think it may be in Westport or Castlebar.  This is the one for you Qwerty.  I think Christy and the Waterboys are headlining, Imelda May, Elvis Costello, Damien Dempsey, Blind Boys of Alabama, loads more.  Probably the Saw Doctors but probably not T** W**** T****.

Thats the one in the grounds of Westport House I think. Decent lineup alright, and I'm fairly certain you won't find that **** shower at it ;)

http://www.stendhalfestival.com/   in Limavady. Havent been but heard good reports and is very family friendly (though kids have to offsite at night time, 8 or 9 of something)

http://www.glasgowbury.com/ in the Sperrins between Dungiven and Ballinascreen. Have been a few times, cant recommend it enough. Also family friendly during the day. Plus the setting, Eagles Rock' is absolutely stunning

Why was the Ballyshannon one so bad?  I've been before and was a decent day!
