Don't see a thread for this.

Kieran Donaghy will start on the bench for Kerry in their Munster SFC opener against Tipperary on Sunday. Reports on Friday claim that Donaghy has been dropped for disciplinary reasons after attending the Champions League soccer final.

Patrick Curtin gets his chance to impress when he starts at No 15, with Declan O'Sullivan alongside him at full-forward.

Daniel Bohan comes in at full-back for the injured Marc Ó Sé, who has a small tear in his hamstring. Peter Crowley lines out at No 7 for his first Championship outing.

Kerry XV v Tipperary in Munster SFC quartrer-final at Semple Stadium on Sunday, 27 May at 2.00pm:

B Kealy; S Enright, D Bohan, K Young; T O'Se, E Brosnan, P Crowley; A Maher, B Sheehan; P Galvin, Darran O'Sullivan, K O'Leary; C Cooper, Declan O'Sullivan, P Curtin.

What is the story with Donaghy ? Surely this is a bit extreme unless he missed a training camp or challenge game and lied about where he was?

Tipp are very much understrength for this one, with Barry Grogan and Brian Jones in Boston and Conor Sweeney, Robbie Kiely and Brian Mulvihill injured.  I fear for Tipp as you need all your players available to put up a good show against Kerry.  With so many of the All Ireland winning Minor team still underage for minor this year, Michael Quinlivan is the only player from that team playing tomorrow.  Hopefully, as his minor team mates come through over the next few years, we will be able to face Kerry with more realistic hopes of doing well.  The again after playing Kerry in the 1st Round for the last 3 years, it would be a nice break to get drawn against someone else for a change.

Donaghy's benching was a long time coming. Cost Kerry the match against Mayo and was anonymous for large parts of the championship last year. Maybe this'll refocus him, if not he'll be spending alot of time on the bench this summer.

Tipp gave a good account of themselves last year v Kerry until they fell away at the end. Missing all those players you would have to fear the worst. Quilivan is a fine talent looking forward to seeing him at senior level.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Underwhelming display from both teams.

So it appears the decision to drop Donaghy was unrelated to the Champions League Final. Turns out he turned up late to a training game because he was searching for his lost dog around Tralee!
There's Seán Brady going in, what dya think Seán?

If it was Cork instead of Tipp I doubt Donaghy would have been dropped, missing dog or not.

Yerra, Cork will win Munster hands down this year. Kerry are finished.

Pleased enough with Tipp's performance yesterday.  The loss of Robbie Costigan in the first half stretched our resources further and there was little or no experience on the bench to bring on in the last quarter on a very hot day.  We missed too many chances to really push Kerry on the scorboard, but the spirit was excellent and Tipp saw out the full 70 minutes and avoided the concession of late scores that has happened so often in the past.  Having lost to Kerry by 12 points on both 2010 and 2011, yesterday's 6 point defeat was a clear improvement.  Peter Creedon also has Tipp playing a better brand of football than in the latter years of the John Evans era.  In the qualifiers an awful lot depends on the draw, but at least we won't be playing Kerry again and hopefully we will avoid them in next year's Munster Championship draw.  It is hard to believe that Tipp were drawn against Kerry in the first round of every Munster Championship this year (Senior, Junior, Under 21 and Minor).  At least we beat them in the Minor match in Tralee, but now have to play them again in the Munster Final.
