no bother. have to say yesterday was very promising. the way they dealt with losing Rory Kavanagh by all moving forward a bit and putting in that extra effort. hopefully now we can get to stay in division 1 as thi is where you have to be to get the experience against the big teams before championship.

appreciate it! i missed listening to the game online through highland.

showed good resilience that did, shrugging a setback off like it didn't mean anything. i'm also liking seeing the scoring spread around a bit more. liking that a lot. i'm dying to see us play again, see how we're progressing y'know. heady days this div 1 crack.

Yea seeing the range of scorers was definitely a huge plu from yesterday. to see mcloone and mchugh even go to score makes a change ! Lets not get to cocky though as Dublin will be a completely different battle. hopefully kavanghs red card will be overturned and we will have a full squad. good thing about yesterday was things just kind of clicked. however this year so far, there didnt seem to be a system ? i knwo everyone was giving out about lastyears system but at least the lads knew exact;y what they were each doing. up until yesterday, that was not the case.. nobody knew what to do. hopefully this can be sorted and a system put in place before championship

agreed, a lack of humility is sure to be rewarded with the required dose of humiliation. not that surprised to hear we'd been playing without a system. wee bit of experimentation has to happen though to see what he's got at his disposal and how different attacking variations work or not as the case may be. it's not as if we don't know how to attack, or don't have the players to either, just the system to do it as you say. i'd like to see us able to press sides high up so we turnover the ball and score quickly and also be able to soak up pressure defensively and hit on the break... what i wouldn't give for us to be able to get the ball up to the front men quickly. anyway, i wouldn't want us to sacrifice our defensive quality too much. there's got to be that balance. tricky one!

Yea its good to experiment with systems, only thing is I'd be a bit worried about not practicing the championship one before the actual championship just .

i can't comment because i haven't seen us play this year! i really trust those making the calls though to assess where we're at and to develop our style and tactics, or not as the case may be. it's not as if they haven't proved themselves. i'm not saying you don't trust them, don't get me wrong. anyway, i've been mullin' it. i think how we play is important. it's our identity now, and what binds us together. i don't have the words to describe what last year was like, but it became what it was in no small part because we were vilified, the outsiders, and still won a rake of games and nearly smashed and grabbed. that would have been sweet eh. but there's always this year. hopefully we'll wind up people even more. nothing like being under attack to bring you together!

Christ, I wish some Mayo posters would read that sentence!

When I questioned our lack of shape and stuff before the game I was called a wavering and wishy washy supporter. I also had the pleasure last night of a genfitt -clad taxi driver screaming about Mayo being sucked into playing Donegal at their own defensive game. Donegal scored 17 points. He wanted a traditional attacking game. Sunday s selection were  lacking in the basic skills - and the enthusiasm- to do anything like that.

You re worried about not practicing the champ. system in the league? We don t even get close to a champ. team in the league any year! And I hope it s the same story this year for obvious reasons.

A system? That s a place we really have never gone and there s no reason to go there now. Is there lads?

agreed. mayo def need to get themselves over to the dark side. it has its perks!
