And so it is... Martin McGuinness will meet the Queen and Sinn Fein will have buried the last great 19th century shibboleth of the Republican movement. An acknowledgment of the realities or the burial of republicanism and acceptance of Northern Ireland as everyones we country?

By the way I think it makes no sense not to meet her and be polite.

The Provos don't have the patent to Republicanism.
Time to take a more chill-pill approach to life.

True, but the current torch bearers aren't really up to much.

Just a question is your interpretation of Republicanism just the armed struggle or does it include all parties, groups and organisations who believe in one way or the other in the ideals of Republicanism?

Apples, who is Mrs Mountbatten?
SF sometimes call her Mrs Windsor, she is Head of Statelet and therefore Martin's boss.

ardal

When was she a Mountbatten? Is that her maiden name? I thought he was an uncle of sorts.

I've seen her referred to as both Mrs Windsor and Mrs Mounbatten, Mountbatten his her husbands surname.
