I rarely look on the general discussion so apologies if this has been brought up before.

For the last 4 years, if often read the board on my smart phone and with more and more people doing the same now I wondered would it not be a good idea to have some sort of anchor points on each page so that you can jump to the bottom or top etc.

Some people love to quote big long posts from other people and so I often find I am just scrolling down the page half the time to get to the latest posts.

Does anyone else think this would be helpful and I'd imagine it wouldn't be hard to implement.

Not quite the answer to your question, but although my phone can do "full" webpages I use
http://www.gaaboard.com/board/index.php?;wap2 to get  a more compact format that suits the small screen and crap data connections.
If at first you don't succeed, then goto Plan B

Cheers for that. I got a new phone about a month ago and I've only been able to view the full webpage  since. That version you posted is far handier to read on the phone imo

Surely there's a student out there with enough time on their hands to develop a Gaaboard app - it could include tipping comp features and the like.

Its the annual cow-tipping contest, normally run by farneyboy or one of his cohorts, which unfortunately has gone into abeyance in recent times, alongwith the welly throwing and the GAABoard ploughinhg championships(Official Ploughing Championships of Ireland). Maybe farney boy or the like could resurrect these much missed competitions now that the summer is here and he may have some extra time on his hands?

I second that emotion. A GAABoard App would be class.

Never mind that eejit from Cross.

Tipping Comp refers to the various competitions on the site for tipping the winners in matches in hurling and football, league and championship. I think Dickie Rock had a website one time, but it seems to have disappeared into the ether.

Yes an app would be great though I've got a nokia N8 so usually nobody designs any local apps for anything other than Apple or Android

All I'm talking about is that the techies behind the gaaboard forum just place little anchors on each page. One at the top, middle and bottom so you can jump down to those places from a link at the top or bottom. Easy peasy.
