I don't see that Sinn Fein are eurosceptic, i'd regard them as a pro EU party.
Generally political parties in Ireland are pro EU.
Doesn't mean that they can't moan.

So they are pro-EU and like to moan about it?

In that case they are like women and sex.

I'd imagine the Irish CB would consider the value of 3 currencies, the GBP, other EU currencies and the USD when deciding the value
That value wouldn't last 5 minutes after "the markets" open
Rossfan maybe you are an expert in the workings of a CB, but I have yet to see any evidence of that, just a rehash of uninformed fears that are spread by what passes for politicians and their  dogmatic free market economic cronies.
As I explained, the currency value is decided in relation to the value of a number of other country's currencies, a realistic value that the CB can support. The CB has to impose controls, for 3 years at least.
The currency value does not crash when controls are in place to protect the currency value decided upon..
Where does the foreign currency come from to satisfy the country's needs, it comes from export trade.

The bailout was not free market thinking. It socialized the debt through intervention. Citizens got the worst of both worlds.

Is it not possible to be pro European, ie for closer relationships between European countries but to at the same time be against elements of how this is done? It seems you just get painted with an ignorant brush as being a euro sceptic if you wish for a different Europe than the one the established parties want.

So Sinn Féin is pro-Europe but just not this Europe?

I believe that is their position. If Europe was run by adolf Hitler after ww2 would I be a euro sceptic for opposing that?

Yes. Scepticism is about doubt or mistrust so a Eurosceptic (if you choose that term) is against/mistrusts ANY version of a "federal Europe". IMO. But your point is fair that you can be in favour of "Europe" but not the shitty, corrupt, bloated bureauocracy in place now.

Sinn Féin have opposed every EU treaty to date.

That is why you are a euro-sceptic.  ;D

Why would sf opposition to eu treaties mean that I am a euro sceptic. Please enlighten me.

This is the question from you which I answered:

The elements of how this is done is through treaties. Oppose all of the treaties and you are fighting against closer ties. You can't have it both ways.

I'll ask again, why does the opposition of sf to European treaties make me a euro sceptic
