Lads, lassies and everyone else, I'm just looking into all these Friends of / Cairde / Clann initiatives that a fair few clubs seem to running these days.  Most schemes seem to involve weekly clotto, private draws and memberships and I think it's fair to say that Ulster clubs seem to be leading the way on this this one.

Do of the members here have any experience in setting these up in your clubs?  Do you know what has worked well in attracting people to buy into your scheme/initiative?

Any other little nuggets of wisdom for any club setting one up?

I don't have experience of setting this up, but I pay into ours. We setup 'Club Drumragh' in our club a few years ago. It's a £10 a month direct debit and there is £500 given away every month in a Draw. It started out well with around 170 members but I believe this has since decreased by around 30. At the start there was one £500 winner a month but now its 1 £200 and 3 £100. To be honest, I think that the people who signed up to this were going to anyway, no matter about the potential prize money to be won.

A neighbouring club to ours, Killyclogher have a £20 a month direct debit. There's no draw or prizes, but members get free membership of their gym
