It seems in Belfast everyone wants to have a 'quarter' eg the cathedral quarter. now the loyalists want an orange quarter" it turns out that two thirds of the shankill is derelict and because nobody wants to live there and if you decide to call the place a 'quarter' you might get some funding. the proposal is that the 'quarter' would be dedicated to orangeism and orange culture and heritage (code for wink wink nelson give us the money) they think it would be a big tourist attraction ::). I'm trying to think what exactly their culture is...? 'marching?' 'marching?' and perhaps more 'marching?'. so you can just imagine.. your on the tour bus when it turns on to the shankill and there you have a crowd of loyalists with a band getting paid to 'march' up and down all day then the bus stops at an orange hall where you get jaffa cakes and tea served up by the ladies orange lodge but only if your a white prod wearing a rangers jersey.. others have to pay, then you can buy a few Cd's of 'kick the pope bands' and get a couple of little plastic sashes for the kids sold by someone with tattoos of king rat RIP who only speaks ulster Scots. these hoors will try anything :o
sweet jez where are the people who conquered America.. the protestant work ethic.. the race that spawned US presidents?

Well we already have a green quarter on the Falls Road, awash with public funding.

The same as in a game of Ice Hockey.

The interesting thing about this is that Orangism is seen as a sort of exotic immigrant minority, like Chinatown. I think that is appropriate enough, but it is interesting that the proposers do.

The proposed Orange Quarter is in the West of the city; this is in the East. And Jim Wells is only a local DUP man if the Newtownards Road has recently been moved to South Down.

I hope you own a Sat Nav.
