Ballina to Dundalk -- Directions please

Ballina, longford, edgeworthstown, ballinagh, cavan, cootehill, shercock, carrickmacross, dundalk. Or if u want to avoid that shit hole longford go boyle, carrick on Shannon, ballinamore, belturbet, cavan. I've done this trip many times.

if you dont like driving head for Oranmore take the m6/m4 to the m50 but if you want to see the country The slasher seems to have the most adventous route even allowing for boyle

As for Boyle. I suggest you go Ballina, Collooney, Boyle, Carrick - all decent roads and not too busy. Carrick Ballinamore Belturbet is bendy enough but decent surface and not busy. Cavan - Dundalk is decent enough.

That route you will do in 3.5 hrs.
