The PRC have come up with what looks like a class Christy ring video that covers the period from 1959 to 1964.
Definitely a must buy for all connoisseurs of the world's most magnificent sport and for missionary work in the fuball counties.

Does anyone know of any DVDs that would have the hurling stuff from earlier on in the 50s, especially the Wexford games?

I'm surprised they went and did this. Now the wider world will find out that Christy Ring was grand in his day but by today's standards was probably no better than average. Savage wrists, a bullet of a shot, a quare good sideline, but could he run? He'd probably make center-back on the Cork Intermediates.

Any footage I've seen of Ring hasn't done much to sell him as an untouchable genius of the ages.
A lot of it is him running around with a scaffolding plank slashing across lads.

Granted he was ahead of his peers of the era, when the game was rough and you had to survive firstly before you could show any skill. However I doubt there are many skills Ring could perform, that a decent Division 1 standard hurler couldn't do nowadays.

That sounds like an online  comment from the Femail section of the Daily Mail !  Ring could win all-Irelands ! And how many div 1 hurlers have the vision thing?
Did his tits look saggy in the video as well ? l

Noel Lane could win All Irelands. He had great vision too...though he has started using reading glasses lately.

3 hurling posts in one day. Is that a record?

I was trying to wind up a few Corkmen (even though I believe everything I said).

they're wise to me. Can't wind up a Corkman that aisy anymore, sadly.

Hmm, pity they didn't show what he did to his marker in the 1953 final.
