I really like the BBC show Coast, the last time they aired the Isles of Britain & Ireland Coast series they did all of Britain and Ireland except the bit from Galway City to Donegal, whic irritated me in no unslight way. But yesterday they showed it and I only saw the last 2 minutes. Raging again, it seems Mayo (of course, we are the Maritime County) was quite impressive. Well I suppose with Ireland's longest Coast (that's right Cork and Donegal) and in my unbiased  ;) opinion the most stunning and interesting I was greatly dismayed to miss this show.

I tried http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00tfv4z  but I cannot watch it in this region  >:(

One of the best programmes on telly, and yesterday's show was no exception.

Sorry I cant help much with your query though.

Good show.
The best TV by a million miles. The episode on the west cost of Ireland ranged from Grace O'Malley to the RNLI!!
Nothing comes close.
Fierce tame altogether

I loved this show the first time around. Someone told me they did Norway & Brittany too. I'd say they would be very interesting Coasts too.

Excellent stuff.

Yep saw the one they did on the Norway fjords liked the program so much that i visited the Fjords myself last summer & they did another program on the Norway coast showing the Nazi bunkers that lay hidden for more than 50 years

The Roscommon tourist board won't be relying on them in the foreseeable future  ;D

No coast no worries for Roscommon but a lot of pesky neighbours to deal with  ;)

Great show, some amazing footage and I was interested to see the identification of the coast of Ireland (Eire) for the American pilots, and that it was still visible today.

Next time i get the chance when home im going to head down to that Clew Bay area, looks amazing. Would have been there as a kid but wouldnt have appreciated it. One of the best shows on TV. The Caledonia canal last night was unreal, some of the feats of engineering / back breaking work are hard to comprehend in the modern age.

I used to go to different beaches in Donegal every day of the summer when younger, but as someone mentioned you don't appreciate the beauty when younger and you don't pay attention or remember how to get to most of them as you were a passenger.  I have never been to Slieve League though, and I would love to go there soon.  It would be good to have a few weeks to tour Donegal and go to Portsalon, Portnoo, Downings etc and really take it in.

Really good show, and the bite-sized nature of the segments means you can dip in and out when it's squeezed in between programmes about Hitler on the documentary channels. Mark Horton does me head in though

The Brittany one covered some of the story behind the famous Jean Guichard photo of the lighthouse keeper of La Jument lighthouse getting caught in a storm. The photo is so amazing some people think it's a fake!
