I see that Tony Blair is donating the money from his upcoming book to British Legion for helping injured soldiers.  The advance has been reported as 4 million.  How great will the sales of this book need to be to recoup this advance?

For the aid to injured soldiers I don't think it matters where the money come from.

Imagine if the Irish Army invaded northern Spain so as to snuff out the Basque separatists, and killed thousands of Spanish at the same time. Would you donate money for the injured Irish soldiers?

You join the army, you fight the battles you're told to fight. The Irish Govt would be at fault, not some young lad from Tallaght who signed up to get a job and ended up with his legs blown off.

I don't think he was going to win either way. If he had took the money he would have been abused all round the place. At least this way some people are getting a major benefit of it

Tony Blair doesn't feel a shred of guilt over Iraq.

Starting late in the game there. If he didn't send them off to get killed and injured he would be facing the problem.

It's just a case of the British media creating another story to sell more papers. Create a sensational story, sit back and watch people go mad and laugh at the papers it sells you.
