Dont think i could put up with England winning the world cup.  dont have anything against their players, they are some of the best in the world, but the fans annoy me.  when they win a game in a qualifying group against a low ranked team, everyone of them are saying that they will beat all in front of them but when they lose a game its all heading for the shit heap. the managers head is called for, the players are slagged and its crisis time.  it seems that it has to be one of the extremes instead of the middle ground.

Have you ever met Mayo people?

At least we score penalties.

In order to have an interest in the WC myself and her drew a team each out of a hat which we must support. We must oppose eachothers teams too. I drew Spain while she got Slovenia. I will be cheering on England against Slovenia ???

Wouldn't cheer for England even if they were playing Tyrone ;)

I wouldnt either but I would have to if they played Down.

Upon further review................................ strike that.

The Armagh-Monaghan thread has slipped off the front page on the other side of the Board at last.

Capt Pat

What happened to the Monaghan goalkeeper again that they had to play the fullback in goals?

Sad end to the Golden Generation, but with guys like Rooney still about in 4 years time, we wont be far away next time out!

Hold your heads high lads, just didnt work out this time!

Still better than you Irish mugs anyway lol. So cringeworthy seeing you all celebrate England and France's exits.

Stephen Gerrard is the same age as Ronaldinho while Lampard is two years older. Brazil have retired Ronaldinho.

Gilberto is obviously well the wrong side of 30 but he is very much the exception and he is playing a simple holding role.

Rooney would be fine in a team playing reasonably well but Gerrard and Lampard are stars in their relative teams and Liverpool's and Chelsea's game-plans give them both free roles. There are only so many free roles that can be handed out. Dare I say it but England need a Roy Keane/Essien type to play with either Lampard or Gerrard but not both.

I can't really understand how Capello didn't address this especially after seeing Trapattoni build his team around two ordinary players simply because they were defensive midfielders, with some success as well.

Yeah but they needed someone who actually wanted to play at a World Cup.......
