What if Mutu got killed in a car accident or something. Could Chelsea hit his estate for 17 million? Or would they be insured against this eventuality?

Seems a bit ridiculous though I've little sympathy for the twat. What would most of the population of the world (never mind Romania) give for the chances he had in life.

It is the height of farce, to make Mutu financially responsible for the ridiculous transfer fee Chelsea paid to his previous club for his contract.

The height of nonsense is taking cocaine as a professional athlete. Being caught and banned. Then taking drugs again!

Then he faces the sanctions imposed by the sporting authority for his actions.
The responsibility for the transfer fee,  not to mention the inflated amount has nothing to do with Mutu, it is a matter between Chelsea and his old club.

Capt Pat

There may have been a clause in his contract that made him responsible for the transfer fee if anything went wrong that was his fault. However Chelsea firing him was not his fault.

Does Mutu have the money to pay for this.
