Nice one Louth Exile.

Hard to see any sport but the Gaa giving days like that to a family.

I go to under 8 soccer matches with the young fella in Zurich. Last week they had a match against a team from the famous Grasshopper Zurich who are one of the 2 big soccer teams in the city. I was talking to one of the parents and he said that when the under 8s make it to senior at most one of them will be involved with the professional setup, if at all. There are kids today in places like Ghana and Montenegro who will eventually play for Grasshopper. Very hard to get 4 generations of family pulling for that sort of team. Most of the kids here support Barcelona anyway.   You can't beat the GAA for local roots.  Even if it is torture at times.

Eloquently put LE. I doubt you'll find a Westmeath man in the county who'd begrudge you a Leinster Final place, just not at our expense, especially after the last couple of years we've had... May the best team win...

May the best team win indeed, yis didn't have to go bringing back Keane though!

Great boost to have him back. Don't expect to see him start the next day but he'll be a great option to bring on if needed, we're pretty light in terms of replacement options back there...

Down South

I missed the 1986 Ulster final, the next Down game I missed was last years defeat by Fermanagh, though a board member used my season  tickets for that game. I also missed the first round win over Donegal this year, having been to all Downs league and McKenna cup games in 2010.

SLIGONIAN

There is a hardcore following in all counties, you see the same people at all the games home and away and then sunshiners come out for Championship.

I have had a soft spot for Louth a long time now, and would love to see them in Leinster final and who knows. Was delighted when laois and westmeath won there leinsters earlier in the decade. So best of luck Louth exile.

Always would love to see Fermanagh win Ulster or Carlow win Leinster aswell.

It is indeed! The lure of Argentina v France on the telly in Meaghers drawing most (not all) from the Hill!! (assumption here that Dubs beat Wexford of course). A truly awful bit of fixture making
