Only just hearing of this.

Very sad day in the GAA world, but nothing compared to the hurt and pain his family and friends are experiencing.

My love and prayers go out to them all.

RIP Liam.

RIP Liam

Sunday morning while having the breakfast we got news of a fatal crash just a few miles up the road from us in Ballyhack. We were shocked and saddened, but this kind of thing has been a bit too common place in the area and especially in Kilmoon cross which has claimed the lives of a few of our friends and neighbors over the years, Despite many campaigns for improved safety only in the last year or so have without any lights been put there.  Without further details we departed to Portloaise. Only then when prior to the throw in of the senior game the announcement was read out and a minutes silence was given in memory of Liam Tolan did we put it all the pieces together.

And while the game played on it was very much of little importance compared to what we had just learned. Liam was well known locally through team-mates and friends and it has shocked everyone. Unbelievable to think that he was living out his dreams and what are the dreams of many young people in Meath to play for the county and only hours later to be taken away.
