Remember what they did when they were 'support' to the Chilis in the Phoenix Park - half the crowd left when they were finished.

But they play Ireland regularly now and bar an EP no new material. Still not a support act in the traditional sense but then their core audience would be 35 - 50 years of age, bums on seats.

Big difference too in that Arcade Fire are consistently excellent and Chilis have done nothing useful since Californication. Bought tickets for these gigs about a month ago. Great to see Pixies added to it.

Saw Arcade Fire at their legendary Electric Picnic Gig, the one in the tent in 2005 I think. One of the best gigs I was ever at. They had such energy but have seen them twice since and they fail to replicate that performance.

Scandalous! The two middle albums are brilliant! The most recent one not quite at same level but has started to grow on me!

I was there. Amazing!

Interesting chillis opinion. By the way and Stadium Arcadium were both fantastic in their own right. They weren't as ground breaking as Californication was due to the band history prior to Californication but still fantastic albums!

I'd disagree entirely. Bar one or two songs on each (and SA was a double album), I thought they were shite.

I would agree, some class songs on both albums, the guitar solo on wet sand is amazing. they have been consistent up until the last album.

Strokes for folks I guess, but By the Way is top notch. Anyway - enough hijacking.

Are the Pixies the same since Mrs John Murphy left ?

New songs are just okay in my opinion.  Amazing live band.  Anyone at Ulster Hall gig back in the day?

Loved the new EPs as I do most of their stuff, as well asfrank blacks stuff..show me your tears is still one of my favourite albums
RHCP, love guitar bands but they just never revved my engine. Always sounded a bit threadbare.  I thumping rhythm guitarist would have added alot to the sound imo

They're on their third Kim at this stage - and the answer is probably no.
