i would estimate that there was no less drinking done this year than there was last year, only difference was that the police didnt arrive with a riot squad.

Supposedly Palestine St was the only place there was no security cameras installed and was the setting for Rock The Boat yesterday.

Went to the parade in Omagh yesterday for the first time and all i can say is that I don't think I will view it next year. I know it takes alot of time, money and effort to get one of these up and running but it was rubbish, over in a blink of an eye. Came away from it with no emotion at all. I must say the Union jack flying from the court house and Planning office added a nice touch to the day. Good of the people who went to the bother of puttin them out.  :P.

A lot of the St Patrick's Day parades in the north looked anaemic with tricolours few and far between I guess thats the penalty paid for being in a british/unionist controlled state.

Completely different when it comes to the glorious twelfth of course.

I noticed that the BBC focussed on the St Paddy's day clean up. How much does that compare with the cost of repairing roads after the bonfires?

Students aren't all to blame. Take a look at this

Remember the 2007 car burnings- students cars- An arrest was made but the resident later was released without charge. This resident was commonly known as a police informer and April 2008 died of apparently a drug overdose. He lived on Jerusalem Street for anyone who can remember.

And your point?

the press run stories to suit themselves. Yesterday the camera man was gathering rubbish and throwing it behind the interviewee during the interview for extra effects.

I'll agree with you that this year's coverage was a joke, mountains out of molehills. You can't deny the carry-on last year though.

Was he taking it out of the bins or was he gathering it of the street? Maybe if the students put their rubish in the bins he'd have found it a bit harder to create his extra effects. I'm assuming your trying to make out it's some big conspiracy by the media to portray the students in a bad light?

Funny stuff when the student union chap tries to stop the party.........

I've watched that a couple of times now, buzzing off it, would loved to have been there.
