Only done Long Kesh, Crumlin Rd and Kilmainham myself. Each interesting for their own reasons.

Yeah did all three myself Nally,Kilmainham is a great visit but to stand beside those beds in the hospital at the Kesh was heartbreaking. :(

So what was the political price for this centre? Girdwood? If so, a price worth paying?

I was expecting it to be a strange feeling but it was beyond that. It was the strongest mixture of sadness, anger and pride rolled into one. Our entire group just fell totally silent in each room. The reality of what it must have been like hits home when u stand there knowing it where it all happened.

Robinson has done a U-turn and has stopped the peace centre proceeding.

Orior's Reflection:
If you mix Orange and Green you get a dirty brown colour, like coffee. So...
What we need is a great big melting pot
Big enough to take the world and all it's got
And keep it stirring for a hundred years or more
And turn out coffee coloured people by the score

I suspect the horse trading was done a few weeks ago Tony when the DUP siezed planning control from the SDLP, with the full support of SF.

Let the Fracking commence more like it......
next stop, September 10, for number 4......

Banana republics would cringe at the nonsense that goes on in this 'country'.

Sinn Féin has handed Robinson a fig leaf on this one. It's clearly a u-turn due to pressure from within his own party, the UUP, TUV and Orange Order, but now he has some cover, albeit fairly unconvincing.

The question is, what will SF pull the plug on now? What was their trade? Supporting the attempted power grab on planning? Housing at Girdwood?

As for the general population, I doubt the 'peace centre' was any real priority or concern (not unlike marching) - and if it was a trade for planning or housing, it was a poor deal - but no doubt it will be a nice distraction from any danger of engaging in 'real' politics.
