I attended 5 Mc Kenna cup matches, with wife and family (adult unemployed son and student  daughter) Paid 9.00 each -£36.00 5 times = 180, watched reserve team football, bought my weekly club  lotto ticket for all the family  (£7.00) bought 50.00 ticket for another club, bought 3 lotto tickets for other clubs, ,  contributed  ? to Haiti at a match, bought 5 x £1.00 tickets for  HT draw.
Now I like to think we are the grass roots, who support the club   other clubs and help out around the club. Oh I paid my family membership in January too (£100.00).
I haven't  gone to any National League matches yet, as I would have to leave most of the grass roots at home. When that happens the grass roots might  dissappear. To those who set the prices, here is a question : when was the llast time  you brought the family to a reserve team GAA match and paid for the family  the gate, Come do think of it when did you last go to any match with the family and pay at the gate.

15 euros today for the FBD final............. we got a chance to sit in the new stand complete with wet seating and icy walkways. Who sets these prices? A tenner would have been plenty today.

i have to agree with you, its getting expensive to watch football at present. A fiver would be plenty for the mckenna cup games, it would attract bigger crowds as well, at a fiver. There couldnt be a huge expense in staging these games either, its definitley pricing people out of going to matches. Times are a lot tighter than 2 years ago and iv found myself having to pick and choose what games i go to.

it gets expensive when you have a family to pay for,  should be some sort of concession for families

Bloody hell €5 would have done today for the FBD! I didn't go by the way... But when I heard on the radio it was €15 to the FBD I couldn't believe it.

I think the league prices are steep enough considering the fact that teams don't take it as serious as the championship. However, in relation to the above - dont u16's get in free to all the league/McKenna Cup/club games? That's decent enough and the gaa should be praised for that. Suppose they could do something for 17-18 year olds to make it half price or something though they probably already count as students.

€12 into NHL today and NFL last week

who are they trying to kid????

why not leave it a €10??

More likely - why not charge the entrance fee off everyone who should be paying it and stop so many people getting in for free at certain gates.
