Can't see it working at all going from a slow, stop start game to one where its constant movement.

Neither can I.

One game goes for 120 mins (AFL), one goes for 80 mins (League).

One playing pitch is 100 metres by 60 metres (league), the other is up to 190 metres by 140 metres (AFL).

A bloke Hunt's size will be expected to cover 15-20 kms a game in AFL most of it at reasonable pace. I doubt whether he would be capable of doing that right now.

It has all the hall marks of a publicity stunt - but I'll reserve judgment till he plays. At only 22 and a former player of the game he's already a professional athlete. If amateur lads coming out from Ireland can do it - he's as good a chance as any of them to succeed.

ITs back on lads,

have we a full squad of current/former AFL men yet?

Clarke,
Kennelly,
Walsh,
Begley,
....who else?
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

Cavan's Nicholas Walsh  ;D

Seriously, that's the only way this series is in any way viable now. The only way it's competitive any year is if we neuter the Aussies and get them to pick a weak them who don't go full throttle physically, even legitimately. Sure that's not worth looking at.

If ever there's enough lads playing down under to fill most of our team, with a few of the tougher GAA lads thrown in, then it might be worth looking at. As it stands, our own game is gone way too soft to compete with professional athletes who spend every waking moment bulking up. Never mind the fact how embarrassing it is that they make a show of us with the round ball more often than not and us supposed to be the ones proficient at it...
