Mid Mon

Milk, Revelry, Joes head and Fans were all brilliant preformances but i was dissapointer not to hear 17 and Be Somebody.

Odyssey gig was lethal, but similar to oasis gig there a month earlier there there was v little crowd interaction between songs. Bar wasn't an option either cuz mate q'd for 40 mins and missed half the gig so glad i didn't join it too.
sex on fire was obvious highlight from crowd reaction and deservedly so. more a fan of last 2 albums than early stuff myself.

The new stuff is so mainstream/commercial it might as well be The Killers - first album by far the best.

Can some of you 'music experts' explain to me how a band keep their music from becoming mainstream/commercial as i am at a loss here when people make this remark.

Im no expert on music, i will listen to whatever i like the sound of whether its sung by Westlife or f**king Smashing Pumpkins.  All this bullshit from music snobs is laughable in my opinion, its seems like the more support or popular a band becomes, the more music snobs seem to turn their back on them and say shite like 'aw they have sold out', 'they are too mainstream', 'the album is too pop compared to their alternative first album'.  The reason people probably didnt respond as well to KOL older stuff is because they have obviously got a wider fan base now with there first 2 single releases of the new album which are obviously getting a lot of airplay.  Sure the bucket, fans and joes head are good tunes but they didnt get as much airtime as sex on fire and whatever their new song is called, so f**king get yout head out of your arses and get over it.

I've just seen this.  Well, I have opinions about music and if they're different to yours I'm a snob, apparently.  I had a keen interest in Kings of Leon when I heard their first album, as I thought they might follow in the footsteps of some of the greats of blues/rock/cajun influenced music, like Creedence Clearwater Revival, JJ Cale, even George Thorogood.  It's clear to me now that they're not following in those footsteps, and appear happier to mimic Van Halen.  I'm disappointed, you're not - so what?  And a very Happy Christmas to you too.
