sounds identical puck to my symptoms lad. after i would have trained or played a game i would have been in agony. coughing, sneezing anything that involved tensing the muscles around the hip involved pain. Strangely enough when i warmed up before a game or training i could have completed it most of the time. But it was the old ticking time bomb and eventually caught up with me and i had to get the operation. The op took me about two years to fully get over, the initial pain went after 4 = 5 weeks but after it i developed smaller problems with hamstrings and ankles. so if it is this my advice is to get the op done asap and after it get on your feet asap and get to the pool with the bouyancy belt and strengthen the core at every opportunity.
I never forget a face but in your case I will make an exception.
