Anyone notice any decent offers at the minute?
Thinking of getting a 37" in the next few weeks. Is there any point in waiting to January sales?

In the world of consumer electronics the January sale seems to occur all year round. Curry's seem to have some sort of sale on at the minute but I'd check the sale price and then check online for reviews, best prices etc.

I think there is an iphone app which acts as a barcode scanner and will automatically run a price comparison over the web for any electronic goods you scan. Nice.

From shopping around today the best priced TV's are the Technika range (Tesco brand I think).
32" from £280.
Are they complete rubbish? £100 quid more for an LG same size.

Heres the tesco review, seems honest enough.

Read the user reviews as well, there are some with over 12 months of ownership.

Quote from: Trevor Hill on October 25, 2009, 03:01:45 PMI have a 50" Samusung HD TV and a Samsung DVD player/surround sound. When I watch a DVD I only get sound through the surround sound speakers and when watching TV I only get sound from the TV speakers.

How exactly is the TV signal  connected into the amp?
What do have to receive the tv signal? digibox?

The TV signal is not directly connected to the amp. I assumed that connecting the TV to the amp would do the job.
Why is there no sound through the TV when I play a dvd?

Trevor Hill.  The TV signal has to be connected to the amp, then go through the amp,and be converted to surround sound. With 5.1 surround you will not get any sound from the TV speakers .Has your amp a selector button on the amp or remote control for the amp?. The Tv it`s self will not produce  surround sound hence the need for an amp.You should be able to select Tv mode to get the audio through.
