Some people here and around the world seem to think that the men generate all of the money for tennis.

And in particular look at the endorsements. Tennis seems to be very rare in that the women bring serious money into the sport.

In women only tournaments versus men only even the Prize money for women is substantially lower.
I think that's what he meant by riding on the coat tails.
Unisex competitions would only serve to humiliate

This was the Mexican Open prize money a few weeks ago - where both the men and women played

Djovetic breaking ranks and whining about money in the aftermath of this is much more interesting to me. Hints at a soreness in the mens' game that there's equal prize money at a few key events.

I think symbolically equal money at the Grand Slams and joint events is a good thing and it would be a regressive step to change it. Womens' tennis is one of the few sports where the female side is taken seriously by the public at large.

I'll admit I would rather watch mens tennis to womans, thats actually more to do with the fact alot of womans games only last two sets and its hard to get invested in it as such, changing their game to 5 sets especially for the majors would be excellent imo especially the fact in womans games break of serves happens alot more.
Still think it should be equal pay and if it was 5 sets then there could be little arguments, womans and mens tennis especially at majors is sold as a joint event and people will pay to see Serena williams before two men playing ranked 100 and 150 in the world so there has to be a balance.

Apart from Serena though there are few other players anybody wants to watch.

There can be no argument for equal pay until they play the same number of sets.

I wonder physically how many women could sustain their level over 5 sets? I enjoy watching ladies tennis as much as the gents but the f**king noise they make does my head in.

If you never give them the chance we will never know and obviously they would have to up their fitness etc and change things up, regarding the grunting yeah in some woman its terrible but many men can be pretty awful too.
