Has anyone attended this yet? Terence McWilliams is the main man behind it and personally I think it seems to be the way forward.

Supposedly only four clubs in Armagh showed up for it and there hasnt been a lot of interest in the rest of the Ulster counties apart from Down.

Are most clubs still unsure of the whole Go Games/Gaelic Start approach to underage coaching?

The Gaelic Start Workshops are special sessions on coaching and games development that are aimed at those working with very young players and people who are coaching basic skills to young players. The aim of this programme is to help parents, and coaches plan and implement a GAELIC START PROGRAMME in their clubs.

The programme will cover the first 2 stages of the Long Term Player Development Model
Active Start 3-5 Years
Fundamentals 6-9 Years
A specific programme of skills and activities has been developed on user friendly cards for coaches with little or no experience.
The course should outline what a club will need in terms of coaching experience and resources necessary to set up a gaelic start programme that wil ideally run indoors throughout the Autumn and Winter and progress outdoors in the better weather.

The coaching cards have been designed by Department of Education NI primary school coaches so they can be used by anyone, children, teachers, parents and non coaching personnel, they support the developmental stages of all children regardless of ability, they offer a variety of progressive, challenging and fun activities including warm ups, games and skills and they include activities that can be set up quickly and easily.

The cards give useful hints on, how to play, how to organise, what equipment you need, what key coaching points you need to correct faults, how to make games more or less challenging and what follow up games you need to include for further development

I missed this workshop when it was on in Cavan (it was 2 days after we lost the Intermediate Championship Final - I was in no condition to do anything other than sit on a high stool)....  Would anyone have any emails or something they could send on to me?  PM me if you can help out. Cheers
