Great roads out of it!
You don't have to experience Mountrath any more.

Mountrath was indeed an odd place to travel through . Always deserted. Very little activity in the place or so it seemed.

The weird, squeaky wheelbarrow sound of a Laois crowd single-syllable chanting at a match.

Lithe dark haired beauty I met in Thomas Read's many moons ago, I still contemplate the foolishness of youth that took me away from her.

No. Not a reason for anything, really.

Census 2011
Laois had the fastest-growing population of any county (up 20 per cent), over twice the growth rate for the country as a whole.

And now unfortunately has one of national high unemployment rates for young men due to amount of unskilled workers that bought houses there during the noughties to get on the property ladder.

ardal

3 weeks before Christmas I sent one massive parcel back home for all the family.

Address as normal with Irlanda del norte at the end.

Parcel arrived in the the Uk somewhere within 2 days; what's this got to do with Laois?

And then dropped off the face of the earth.

Parcel eventually arrives today and surprise surprise, it went via Portlaois; obviously the centre of some dark galaxy, but at least it demonstrates that the rest of the world perceives Ireland as one island / nation.

So in conclusion, live in Laois if you wish to be near the super postal information hub highway etc etc etc
