Being from Longford where do I start!

Where can I start?

Suggestions on a postcard please.

It was probably when Westmeath won Leinster as I know how much you love them  ;)

Didn't longford win the NFL maybe before your time?
The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

It has to be the day we played Tyrone a fortnight ago. Although we lost, it was such an honour to have graced the same field as the aristocrats of football who have clearly revolutionised the game!  ;)
Btw, Peter Canavan<Maurice Fitzgerald

well at least they know how to win sam. how long's it been??

'98 probably can never been beaten.

We didn't think we could win, I say players didn't think they could win. Nearly every game we were underdogs. There was a complete innocence in it. We were over the moon beating Mayo. Complete roller-coaster year. Drawing to Roscommon, Mike D late goal... Derry game on the pitch the day before with the Offaly supporters...

The half time in the all Ireland and we were saying they gave us a great run and the magic that then followed....

The celebrations were great...

Every county should have that experience once in there life, even Mayo.

Chase the dream not the competition.

AZOffaly

We had a lot of happy days following Offaly when I was growing up, and indeed into the 90s. I'd say my happiest day was in 1994 and the blitz against Limerick. That was surreal.

I was in Arizona for the Leinster triumph in 1997 and the hurling All Ireland of 1998, but they were very proud/homesick days as well.

Minors V Tyrone @ Omagh 2005. Shear Elation after the goal. The celebrations were ridiculous, we had effectivly won the All Ireland there and then.

Although the craic in the second Tyrone game in Newry last year was immense, closely ahead of the 1st game.

Although I go with people who have seen Down win 2 &5 Sam's. It's hard to believe it will happen, but I long and await for the day I experince it.

Aye 98 is hard beaten. 32 years without an All-Ireland. 3 points down at half-time and to see your county come out after the break and play magical football is an incredible feeling. Streaming onto the pitch afterwards and digging up lumps of turf with your bare hands while old lads were in tears around you. Special. The homecoming in Tuam was even better though. Never seen a more manic night in my life. We drove up from Galway and ended up sleeping in one of the pubs for the night. Woke up and they were serving early. Say no more. I was at every game that Summer and never thought at the beginning it would end in deep September.

2001 was more a sense of satisfaction than outright joy. That side deserved another title and the second half turned into a procession during the last 20 minutes. You could just sit back, relax and enjoy it. Which is strange for an AI final.
