slow corner back

The pitch looks awful, was at the matches yesterday and enjoyed both games but the pitch looks shocking. Waterford did a lot of slipping over yesterday especially when it became wet the cats did not have the same level of problem, longer studs perhaps?

I thought a read last week that all the teams in the hurling semi's got a run out on it and where happy with it. Surely they'd have worn the right studs then.

The pitch might be awful to look at but the main thing is that it plays alright and I've not heard anyone from any of the counties who have played on it complain.

Thats the bigger issue. That it looks bad and bitching that it looks awful is just petty and not an issue.

As someone once said "you don't look at the mantlepiece when you are poking the fire"  ;)  :-\

Billys Boots

QuoteThe old Puma kings or Adidas world cups should be your only option!!

There were never really any other realistic options.  The quality of some of the new (and very expensive) boots is very, very poor.
My hands are stained with thistle milk ...

Looks awful on TV. Entering the premier games of the championship its condition is nothing short of a disgrace. The slipping that was eradicated 2 yeasr ago is now back again.

yeah exactly: thats what i was trying to highlight @ yesterdays games,
last year we had....armagh/wexford  Kerry/galway Dublin/Tyrone games played in shocking weather, all brilliant games and there was none of this slipping and slidding .... bad bounce of the ball etc... okay i know the turf will take time to knit and allow for drainage to happen quicker through the core of the soil, ....what i want to know  is ...why was the seed/synethic mixture changed this time?
darragh also brought this up on the sunday game last night .... although none of the competing teams yesterday have  complained yet, dose'nt mean there's not a problem ..... i believe there is and we're gonna hear alot more of this ........ studs or not!!!

Especially if the AI slips out of Tyrone's grasp.
If at first you don't succeed, then goto Plan B

i suppose form is temporary and class is permanent, in  tyrones case, what armagh's excuse. ;)

Dunno if it is just a case of the wrong boots being worn but lads are slipping left, right and centre in the minor match.
Very hard to get any sort of rhythm going when you lose your footing every time you change direction.
If you were any use you'd be playing.

I would imagine had the pitch not been relaid it wouldn't have been a problem. Its an absolute disgrace IMO.

Canalman

Wearing the wrong studs imo. "Mouldies" are like ice skates after any type of shower.
