Currently sitting on the fence, and it's a big price jump.

As stated, it depends on what you want.

If you really value better picture quality, then yes, it's absolutely worth it. Blacks are deeper, so the contrast is insane. Colours are more vibrant. Not OLED but the top end Samsung QLEDs achieve the same, albeit for the same price. Factor in that you'll also have to get a decent sound system in as well. Could easily be another grand on top.

If you just want a big, bright TV and don't see yourself sitting down too often to watch movies in a home cinema type environment, probably but worth it.

Make....specification....etc...

Main use for course work and limited gaming..

SF
Spec wise I wouldn't go below i5/i7 512Gb SSD, 16Gb RAM for a general machine. If you need gaming power you'll probably need something beefier.

Agreed, try Back Market, Stone Refurb etc.. I haven't bought a new laptop in years, always go with the refurbished

There's a few lads do refurbished laptops at Finaghy Road cross roads in Belfast.

I've bought the eldest kids three laptops from them and no issues to date and that's going on 5 years for the eldest lad

Android the best?

Amazon Fire should suffice. Used to be branded as Kindle Fire.

Ebay another one. I got a refurbished Huawei matebook for £200 (less than half RRP) last year and it's still great. Looks like it was a store demo one or something. Just stick to the business sellers and not your one off sellers.

Id say i7 or Ryzen 7. If they're using it for heavier games maybe 32gb ram, otherwise 16 GB will be good. Graphics card will be a big thing here too, 20XX series for lighter games, 30XX for heavier.

Online, though I phoned them as my order wasn't exactly straight forward and needed a couple of queries answered.. Though they have a live chat too
