Hello boys and girls.

I am a Meteor customer here Dine Site. Recently my text messages received are not being recognised from my contacts. For example if Joe Bloggs whom I have on the list as 087 1234567 sends me a text it now appears as coming from +353871234567 and not Bloggs Joe as it used to.

I rang Meteor and they said it's nothing to do with them. I have changed no settings and I cannot see what to do. Do I have to change ALL numbers now on my contacts list to +353etcetc

Any help appreciated - oh, sorry, I have a Nokia N95 8GB

if you have the same number saved twice it wont come up as the person sending you the message.  That's one explanation

I checked that el_cuervo. No - it's all my contacts - all their texts are coming in as +35387 etc. Nothing duplicated as far as I can see. The old 'turning it off' trick not working either.

maybe try "restore factory settings" SS. Be sure to save anything important as i think this just leaves the phone as if you have just bought it.

Before doing that I'd just remove the battery and then put it back in as that seems to reset some of the configuration on my phone.

you can save all your contacts on this website.  It synchronizes with your phone and you can update it from time to time.  It's handy if you ever lose your phone or want to change it.

Solved the problem lads and lassies.

Realised I had almost 2000 in and 1000 out texts. This was clogging up the phone mem so when I did a mass wipe out (all texts since Aug 08) I was right as rain.

So - bear this in mind if it happens to you.
