He was a fine player, it must be gutting to have to quit all levels of the sport you love at such an age.

think Declan is right, the lads versatility kind of fecked him up

played well at wing half forward for Dublin when he was captain, but still think his best role would have been wing half back coming forward or being used as a scoring forward  (not a ball winning one). Gave great glimpses of huge talent and was a star u21 for Dublin. Wish him well. Terrible to hear football careers cut short.

hasn't completely given up on the club end of it yet. He's going to take a long break and see what his body is like down the road. He's only 28. Completely retired from county football.

Very sad news that Collie Moran is forced to retire so young.
Dublin have lost a great stalwart and a gentleman.
Moran was brave as a lion and would put his head where other lads would not stick a hurl.

I'd say he'll be back playing at some level alright. Darren Homan hadn't kicked a ball in two years, came back playing Junior and was playing senior championship about 18 months later.
