The ref was Joe McQuillan from Cavan Dinny.
If you were any use you'd be playing.

Was it? What you think of him, terrible for seemingly for one of our higher profile refs, still angry heading out the door.

I fired a fair few fcuks at him anyway but sure that's neither here nor there.

From talking to my Kildare mates after the match they seem to think they were robbed.
I dunno how.
Sure Earley and Sweeney were sent off within a minute of each other and neither sending off influenced the result.
Earley sent off, Ward knocks over the resulting free to level the game.
Ball is kicked out and in the next passage of play Sweeney gets the line.
The ref did Kildare a favour by blowing up there and then without playing the 2 mins injury-time.
Had a look at the official Kildare forum and one of the lads on there reckons Kildare would have won by 5/6 points if it wasn't for the ref!  :o

Lads do ye ever go to a game, then read the report the next day day and go "Holy fcuk, were we at the same game?" ???

"Kildare's dominance in the first half was impressive. Michael Conway flicked home a goal after just a minute and they set the pace throughout, but still hit an inexcusable nine wides. Meath responded well, starting with an opportune goal from Jamie Queeney after two minutes, but were lucky to be still in the game at half-time – which ended 1-3 apiece."

I know what ya mean Jinxy, The indo described Kevin Reilly's performance as excellent yet from what I've heard from supporters quite the opposite.

"Excellent" was not the word I was using at the game.

What sort of suspensions are Earley and Sweeney facing, does anyone know?

Earley's card was reduced to a yellow on appeal, no surprise from what I saw but kudos to Meath GAA who provided the video evidence. Sweeney got 4 weeks and a bloody nose for his troubles....both will be available for the Biffos....
