As far as I am concerned RTE are an absolute disgrace when it comes to providing teletext GAA service.  We have gone throgh the Rubix Cube, Internet Chess phase and it is harder than any of them to find information without having to go through a complete maze.  You start at  P200, go to P240 today, then 400, 440 etc  If you go to fixtures of say hurling and then want to go on to league tables by just progressiing page up you get GAA, Hurling, European Soccer, back to Camogie, Soccer then GAA

Why in the name of jaysus can they not dedicate one section to GAA where page 400 is hurling, 401 is fixtures/results and 402 is the league table and then the same with football.  On this mornings teletext news they said that Brian Cowan was after having a row with Richard Burton, lucky for me being a know all, I knew that Richard was well dead.

Please RTE, in sequence, Football Fixtures/Results, Football League Tables, Leading Scorers and anything to do with football, all in sequential pages, then the same for hurling.  Good men, thanks.

Edit.  To experience this try and get the result of Limerick and Waterford in todays hurling, then Tyrone and Down in the U21 and then the League tables.

They don't call it Errortel for nothing.

went on there looking for some score updates over the past few weeks, same as above. It is a joke, they have pages for "B BALL" E' STRAIN" CRICKET AND HOCKEY. All one can do is shake their head and thank god for the competition from other media outlets.

Eugene McGee gave out about it as well in the Indo today. He was laying the blame on the GAA's door however for not providing the scoreline of the Connacht u-21 final. However Bud is correct when you think it's going to be pg 400 for results. Next day it would be moved around to a different page.

I've said it before Bud, but in this day and age the gaa should not be relying on RTE to provide a results and latest scores service - how difficult would it be for the gaa to do this itself?

Yeah, what a disgrace that other sports are catered for. Imagine the cheek of someone wanting to know the scores in a basketball game.

I'm after speaking with one of the guys what does the GAA Teletext and in my kindness I sent him a link to this thread in an email, well hardly over the phone.

Maybe he will reply to the thread !!!!  Hardly likely, he sounded a sensible chap and may not want to get involved with us crowd.

(He rang back and said Magickingdom is to get a television lisence.)

I see he has gone and changed the thing now, ALL the football results and forthcoming fixtures(five or six pages of them) are on page 240 and ALL the hurling results and fixtures are on 241.
Hurling league tables 411.   Football League tables 412.

Another note advising magickingdom to pay his licence.
