We are in total disarray at the minute. To explain this more just think about this for 1 second. Glenswilly a division 1 team in Donegal played a challenge match on Friday night against Robert Emmett's a division 3 team also from Donegal. Who was playing Midfield for Glens >:(willy only Ciaran Bonner, he played 35 or 40 minutes before the game was abandoned for fighting. Can you believe an inter county player playing a challenge game 48 hours before a vital DIV 1 NFL game, unf**king believable. He was dropped from the staring team yesterday but came on at half time and played well in the second .Just shows you the sort of respect our lads have for the Management , team mates and the county Jersey in general. Typical Donegal. >:(

Danny - Donegal - sorry I'll rephrase that  - a few lads like Mc Eniff primarily weren't happy with Mc Ivor as he an outsider and they weren't able to influence him. Mc Ivor was his own man - always was - always will be - so Mc Eniff led a campaign to get rid of him -Mc Ivor as well as being a wily old fox who has been round more corners than most was smart enough to see the writing on the wall and resigned before he was shafted.  He didn't stand and fight like Mc Carthy did in Cork, even though Mc Ivor had a lot of support - but Mc Ivor was far too decent, packed his bags and walked.

What followed Mc Ivor's departure showed that it wasn't personal. Donegal succeeded in humiliating two of their own loyal servants, Bonner and Mulgrew with these 2 lads going to the DRA to see who the manager was. Where else would it happen ??

And you're telling us that Ciaran Bonner plays a challenge game on Friday night before he is supposed to play with Donegal against Galway in the NFL ??? Joke.

Mc Ivor had gone a long way in sorting out indiscipline etc in Donegal but he wasn't good enough nor was he appreciated enough. Those were heady days in Croke Park a couple of years ago when taking home the NFL title. Heady days indeed !!

Donegal are no different from most counties south of the political border where the  county boards influence on events on and off the field are far too much. N. Doherty and B. McEniff should be told to f*ck off. They way the board treated McIvor & all interview candidates was disgraceful. John Joe was a fool to go for this job with those Muppet's in charge. No half decent manager from outside Donegal will go near them again, which is a pity cause their appears to be some decent talent in Donegal.

Is Donegal not west of the border?

Some of it is even north of the border.

That's a bit unfair on McCarthy. McIvor isn't a Donegal man, so he's not going to have the same desire as McCarthy to stay and fight when it's not his county.

How far did Donegal go in the championship under McIvor? I'm not quite sure he was the messiah some are making him out to be here. Dont forget Donegal got to All Ireland Quarter Finals and Semi Finals this decade before McIvor took over. Who was in charge the year Donegal got to the Semi Final?

In Cork the players wanted rid of Mc Carthy - so they got rid of him.

In Donegal the players wanted to hold on to Mc Ivor - he was got rid of.

Funny that ?

Donegal and Brian Mc Ivor suffered championship defeats in the most competitive province in Ulster and had definitely been making progress, bringing the first national title to Doneal from 1992 - but that wasn't enough. Nor was his progress in making in roads into years of indiscipline.

I am fully aware that Donegal got to Dublin for AI semis and quarter final before Mc Ivor came along - but at least when Mc Ivor was in charge they came home with him and the rest of the players on the bus and didn't make a holiday out of it !  ;)

What  I found even more cringeworthy was the sight of a Donegal manager begging for employment for his players!
