Machaire Rabhartaigh is hard to whack. Corn02 and Rois will agree.

Agreed, was Rois there when we were?

Craigavon must be some spot.

Name the house it was taken from and I'll send you a pound. I don't know myself but could give a decent guess.

Sally?

You obviously had traumatic experiences in sa Ghaeltacht Hard Station...get it of your chest and go have a chat with the priest..

You'd need to be brave to do that !  ;)

The former had the da of a boy out of TG4 and the latter Shane King.

Being a more cultured type of place we had various members of Kila and The Frames (Colm Mac Con Iomaire are Dave Odlum are the ones I remember though I'm told there were more) as well as a few Dublin hurlers.

If it's down near Sally I wouldn't know, I'm guessing it's Nancy but it's a bit too far left for it maybe.

Corn, I was there in 1992, 93, 94, 95 and 97.  Won a prize in GCSE and A Level Irish so it must have worked a bit  ;D

Friends of mine went back to work there.  Another poster on here worked there as well for at least one summer.  God I loved it.  Brilliant time altogether.

Hoof Hearted

is Teellin still going ? I went there in 85 + 86
Treble 6 Nations Fantasy Rugby champion 2008, 2011 & 2012

If Teelin is still going, it is excellent from the numbers point of view i.e. very small- you get to know everyone and long lasting friendships are built.I was in Falcarragh 75 and 76, Teelin in 77 and was sent home from Rann na Feirste in 78, partly intentionally to see the Down V Dublin AI S/F. Fal was good for football ,RNF has the tradition but Teelin had a magic about it and the proximity to Slieve League is a dramatic backdrop.Over the 4 years I got to know poets, politicians, musicians, footballers and women- many of whom I still meet - great times.

Eh, he has been the head buck cat of Colaiste Bride for the last 40/50 years. Don't think he is there now but he certainly was 20 odd years ago. Did you even go to Rann na Feirste?

Was at the Gaeltacht 5 years in a row and would recommend it to anyone. Deadly craic and enjoyed every minute of it. My Irish did improve a great deal, for the Irish that it was. I certainly was never immersed in saibhreas na gaeilge of the locals and I believe that this is a con by people advertising the Gaeltacht courses.

I speak only for Donegal.

Is leir go bhfuil fadbh millteanach agat leis an colaiste thios ansin i Rann na Feirste Hard Station agus na muinteoiri a bhi (no ata) ann.....ach is e an rud ata ann na bimse ag labhairt i gconai leis na daoine coiteanta sa Ghaeltacht....cibe gaeltacht i....Tir Chonaill, Corca Dhuibine...Conamara ...bh'fheidir gurbh fhearr leat triall a bhaint as sin???
