Anyone stay there before or heard good or bad about it?

Go raibh maith agat.

Stopped off here for some pub grub during the summer. Nothing really around it but it would probably be a good base for day trips, etc.

Don't do it. I don't know the hotel but I know many hotels are struggling to stay in business across the country. I'd say January will see many hotel closures. Your gift could be worthless in a few months.

It's one of McEniff's hotels, so doubt very much it'll be closing.

That said, I dont really like it and wouldnt reccommend it. I havent stayed there, so dont know what the rooms are like, but it's very old and the lounge/bar isnt very impressive looking.

As a gift for parents, I'd suggest The Radisson Hotel which is also close to Rosses Point or else The Clarion Hotel. Both are very nice hotels, but probably more expensive than Yeats County.

Dont rate Mc eniffs hotels to be honest. In Bundoran great nothern and the Holyrood are dusty damp and dated.

Stayed in the radisson In sligo at a wedding a few months ago and it is as good a hotel as i stayed in, in a long time.

The yeats hotel is between sligo and bundoran, does a big luchtime/ sunday lunch crowd but is isolated.

My folks stayed there, loved it. If they're retired a mid-week deal should be great value.

Agree with what other have said.  The Yeats is very old fashioned, I much prefer the Radisson in Sligo.

I agree with the consensus. Unless they are mad keen golfers and would like to be within walking distance of a pretty good golf course I'd recommend going for the Radisson or Clarion.

Never been in the Yeats Country, not someone who has ventured to Rosses Point all that often anyway, but you couldn't go wrong with the Radisson tbh.

Think i'll heed your advice and go with the Radisson

thanks for all the info

The Clarion is the old Mental Hospital.  Absolutely amazing building.  Menu was a bit limited but the rooms could sleep 20 they are that big.  Highly recommended.  You can negotiate a super deal with them as well
