Pangurban, if you have read any of my posts on the Gaza conflict you will know that I don't find the Gaza conflict a joke.

Having watched the show tonight, it didn't come as any surprise to me the lengths the Israeli's went to prevent the media from reporting the conflict in a truthful manner.
I think Jon Snow summed it up perfectly at the end of the programme when he siad "The casualty of this conflict was the truth"

This was actually a fascinating insight into the challenges that journalists and news outlets face when trying to cover a conflict. The lengths the Israelis went to to distort international reporting was astonishing. It was also interesting to hear of the stringent regulations that exist regarding broadcasting of certain images in this part of the world.

Jeremy Bowen's point about broadcasting wall to wall images of mangled bodies, like Al Jazeera and other Arabic news outlets do, was very relevant too. I think he is right when suggesting that this can lead to a desensitisation to the violence and can also have a blinding (almost propagandic) affect on the viewer, whereby the images dominate the viewer's conscience and the actual circumstances and events are drown out.
