A very successful fundraiser for the FAI by the look of things.

The attendance last night was of no concern to the FAI because tickets for Cyprus game and last nights game were issued and sold as a package.

Magpie is probably talking about all the Polish fans that were there last night. There was some squad of them!!

Its a pity it was on Sky, (which I have by the way), I didnt get to see any of my 3 favourite players, Giles, Dunphy or Brady  :(

Giles and Dunphy didnt hold back in the highlights programme on rte2 last night. Dunphy reckons Trappatoni needs to be doing more work regards looking at players and he probably has a point. They still reckon we can qualify but things need to improve by the time the next round of qualifiers come around.

lynchbhoy

thats the dig they are all using on trap at the moment

even brian kerr was having a barely disguised sly dig this morning at him regarding going to watch the players ' live' rather than watching DVD footage.

if its alright (viewing dvd images as opposed to live games) for pro sports and super technical analytical tactician types as in american football and rugby, then why not in soccer?

imo they are just using this to have a go at trap. feck sake hes barely in the door yet.

Yes there was but the FAI didnt get any revenue from their attendance unless they bought merchandise or the like.

I'd say they got a few more bob in than if they didn't hold it at all or held it in Warsaw/Katowice/Anfield/Tolka.

Well yeah obviously considering it was a home game and for reasons I've stated above. My point was that the attendance last night was irrelevant in terms of revenue since tickets are sold for two games at a time.

tyroneboi

im sure the FAI would have got a cut of the Polish tickets sold or would they not?

Declan

I  heard that a lot of freebies were given to the Poles last night so not sure ow much revenue was generated. As far as the game was concerned even a blind man can see that Gibson and Whelan are not up to the job Trap wants them to do. Decent footballers they are but not international standard midfielders. Doyle will surely move back to Premiership sooner rather than later

How many managers will Ireland go through before those boys start to think that it may not be the manager but the dearth of talent that is the problem. They complained about his choice of the central midfield partnership but really after Stephen Reid got injured and that weirdo Stephen Ireland refused to play who have they? And don't say Andy Reid............it's not that often I agree with Roy Keane but he was right regarding the fuss over his non-inclusion.
Keep your pecker hard and your powder dry and the world will turn.

just like that other cork kn**ker steven ireland shouldnt be left back near that team ;D
as for andy reid, he's a very average player imo - cant even make the sunderland team, yet because a few journalists want a controversy hes touted as maradona. darron gibson will be far better than reid or ireland in the next few years..

Ireland's already one of the best attacking midfielders in the EPL, at least he has been this season anyway.  I'm not convinced that Gibson will be a future regular for any EPL side, unless possibly one of the yo-yo clubs like West Brom.
