After a vote amongst delegates, John Joe Doherty won on by a margin of 28-17 to become Donegal's next manager.

However, the appointment will have been overshadowed by the treatment of Brian Mc Ivor, Charlie Mulgrew, Declan Bonnar and John Joe Doherty along the way.

The process involved in slecting a new manager has taken a long time, but one suspects that it will take even longer to heal the rifts caused as past 2 months.

Let's hope the powers-that-be do the decent thing and step aside now.

They haven't stepped aside in Cork and are unlikely to do so in Donegal.

Could you not just have posted this in one of the several Donegal manager threads without having to start a new one?

Orangeman - you pushed the line for long enough that it was letterkenny and ballyshannon clubs that shafted McIvor. now you're laying the blame at the county board's mat - which is it?
