Quote from: Truthsayer on June 15, 2025, 01:41:40 PMTempting fate but can not see defeat today. Cavan are poor and how they beat Mayo is a mystery. Mayo mustn't have turned up at all. If we don't bate Cavan, be better off out of it...

Mayo are one of the worst teams going. They've a real lack of talent in their squad, a result of years of poor underage results. It was shocking result for Tyrone to get beat by them.
Mayo not so bad after all.
Big well done to Tyrone top of the table. The progress continues under Malachy O'Rourke 😉
And another great weekend with the new rules...

Never in any danger today. Great to see Meyler back although disappointing at the same time with McKernan suffering what looked like a nasty injury. Hopefully that isn't the case.

Finishing top of the group is a great effort. The win in Ballybofey was hugely encouraging. The manner of the defeat against Mayo was worrying. As such, still hard to know where exactly we are. But it's certainly a lot better than the last two years anyway.

Trileacman waiting for them to lose so he can lay into O'Rourke again. They will probably get beaten at some stage but is no doubt team Tyrone is improving which is what we want.

What was McKernans injury? Knee? He's been our best player this year, be a tragedy if he misses the season.

Aye went off with his knee in a sling  ::)
You must be delighted with the result! Top of the table #quarter-final 👌

Jerome

A lot of good performances from guys today that had been struggling for some form. Nice to get straight through next round will be a step up. Let's hope we are up to the challenge

Yeah let's hope that

On the radio it sounded like mckernan was targeted from the start

Was at the game and McKernan got boxed off the ball. Linesman came on to the field in an attempt to get ref. Ref clearly seen him and wouldn't pause play. McKernan got the ball again within a min and was wrote off after laying off the ball. I was at other end of field but looked very dirty. Ref eventually went to linesman and gave a yellow, but not sure if it was for first or second hit.

Looks like dislocated shoulder or color bone break to me. Real shame as he's been our most consistent man all year.

Deadly to see Conor back, what a testament to the man to make it back from continuous setbacks.

Whisper it, but we could do some damage this year.

Great win good team selection Teague worked at wing back where Ty were weak. Pity re McKiernan but 2 weeks til next game now so some hope. Big benefit was bringing Harte on early as he should start and his energy today showed his capacity. If bringing O'Neill and McHugh in panel fooled Cavan Kennedy still injured Good! His presence vital. Con was great revitalied even more by Kennedy being there l believe. Great spread of scores and Meyler now a real option to help finish out games at least. Hope prelim. quarters are dog rough and Tyrone get full benefit of 2 weeks. Need fear no-one of the rest if that ruthlessness continues. Beat Donegal should have beaten Armagh rest all vunerable. Tyrone Meath AI final? 🤔🤣

HokeyPokey

Delighted to see Meyler back. He seems such a good egg and a great role model. And of course a brilliant player.

There's not too many good teams left in it. Monaghan, Dublin and Donegal are all one-forward teams, Mayo were another. Kerry if their Paudie, Sean OShea and Geaney injuries persist will be another one. Ourselves, Galway and Armagh have arguably the best pick of forwards in the country. Still hard not to feel that Armagh are miles in front of everyone else, how they dismantled the Dubs in Croke Park was ominous.

Still think we need a bit more on the kick out strategy. I know Morgan has looked jittery at times ( To be fair all keepers have with the new rules) but our running into space for kick outs is still poor. We're relying on Morgan hitting pin point passes a lot of the time and that's putting him under pressure. A few times he was nearly called for taking too long, but there was literally nothing on to hit. Then when one of his lockouts goes slightly off, he's getting the blame.
But that's nick picking on a day when they did so much right.
