its got absolutely nothing to do about money. we haven't got the quality of player needed to succeed at this level any more. john brennan is doing a good enough job with what he's got and i hope we get to an ulster final but that's the height of my expectations for this year.

gillis was a poor county keeper, devlin aint much better and micky c is probably the best of a bad bunch. derry football is at its lowest ebb in a long long time. john brennan is a good manager but he should've got the job a few years ago when we had a half reasonable chance.

it has taken me a while but i've finally seen the light. i can't for the life of me figure out why no one else on this board has seen the massive opportunity. i went out yesterday and bought ear muffs a head guard and of course a whistle and i'm gonna become a referee. i've taken a look around and i figure i'll be refin an ulster final within 2 years. antrim cavan down monaghan fermanagh and donegal have no high profile ref's,armaghs top ref is hughes and he's terrible-god help armagh football. and even worse than that tyrone's best referee is sludden-i'm almost feeling sorry for tyrone. you know when i read back on this maybe derry referee's aren't so bad afterall-i'll give them another year but have a sowed a seed in anyone else's head?

on tuesday evening i went too see a semi final of the feile na nog in lavey and as a born again neutral i was looking forward to watching a good game of football. alas,it was not meant to be as unfortunately kevin"i'm at least 8 stone overweight"martin was refereeing. my god, just give it up hedgey because no team in derry deserve's a referee who's out for an evening stroll. he was very poor too both team's but because he can't keep up with the play it made him look so much worse. question is how did he pass the fitness test???

i heard dawson should've drew with screen. i wonder will that send a reality check too the draperstown folk. in my book there still a few players short off being a successful team.

good win for derry. i like john brennan cause he seem's to be pulling everyone together which is the main thing but i also know that its only february-i'd be happier beating tyrone in july or august.

tyrone should win quite easily today. derry defence looks dodgy especially the goalkeeper and full back line. talking to a draperstown man last night who said he wouldn't even have devlin in goals for them.

bellaghy are a good proud club,it's just a pity there on such a downward slope in reguards of the current football climate,i hope i'm wrong but with no young players coming through and the squad looking threadbare relegation in the next few year's is a possibility.

can't believe people in derry still think joe diver is good enough for county football,he's a headless chicken and he just hasn't the football brain required to be playing at county level. doherty will be missed but hopefully he'll be back championship time but bellaghy can keep the rest they just haven't got it.

s derry u21 final will be a tuf close game. that kilrea team never jost a game at underage and also went on to win the st pauls tournament whilst the shamrocks struggled against slaughneil nd lavey.i think everyone would agree ballinderry look to have the better players but that does not mean they have the better team.i feel it will be too close too call and sean hamill as ref could determine which team will win it

alan nash is a sound bloke and a very good referee. you have too ask yourself why do referees linesmen and umpires bother facilitating these games when every day they go out there leaving themselves wide open any amount of abuse
