UDA/UVF violence is just as on-going as republican violence.  Don't think even Trimble can be attributed to directing loyalist violence for his political ends.

Short memory?

The issue here is that Trimble as a "moderate" unionist making statements to that effect opens up a degree of legitimacy to those conversations. Never mind his own history as a not so moderate unionist.

Great win for a (12 man ?) United team.

They were value for the win in the second half, but what the hell was the referee watching? Young-  no question that should have been red and a Stonewall penalty.
Pogba lucky to be on the field. 5 or 6 borderline yellows that I saw from United that weren't given as fouls. City Breathing seemed to be a free kick for United.

I don't think I have ever seen anything quite like that.

Adams has just sanctioned a continuation of republican violence and a resumption at any time in the future if things don't go to his plan:

Does Mary Lou agree with his position on the use of violence? No doubt his appointee in the North will agree.

Not much attempt here at reconciliation or bringing a United Ireland about by consent as agreed in the GFA.

I think you'll find that the former political party leader this week threatening violence was David Trimble

Also came across him through work, prgamatic, yes indeed. I would however disagree significantly with his economic theory, or at least those from 15 years ago. His TV views are not be those he expressed in his wall St pomp. Interesting to see where he actually comes out in this process.

Stew
A lot of Democrats think these mid terms are going to be a cake walk. I think they are going to get their asses handed to them in a lot of places that they aren't expecting. No voter reach out, and no leadership. Not exactly what works in middle America...

Chinese are laughing at The US at this point.

Have announced 25% tariffs on $50B of imports, firmly targeting Trump's agricultural base voters.

Trump pulling a Germany. You can't fight a trade war with China, and Russia at the same time.

All the while, the UKs unravelling influence following Brexit shows where they really are in the world's list of power brokers.

World changing quickly. China are playing a different game with different time lines. Wars. Trade or otherwise are easy to start, but not so easy to finish.

On the one hand: Calculated, reasoned, strategic with clear goals to develop global trade alliances for china

Other (small) hand: whatever crosses his mind while taking a shit and watching fox news before banging a porn star.

WTF is going on?

The Trump administration is a cheap whore filled with power hungry money grabbing dirty b**tards.

Roll back by the EPA of the emission regulations?

Ouster of the veterans affairs head because he's not privatizing healthcare quick enough for the Koch brothers and replacing him with your personal physician?

This is not a "Republican vs democrat" ssue, this is "I can do whatever I want so f**k you" and he is f**king you. Decisions are being made to out as much money and power into the inner circle, the truly rich are playing the wannabe like a fiddle.

This is going to hurt. The cost to the country of rolling back these decisions will be long and will significantly hurt America's power base across the globe. But 50 already super wealthy Americans will become significantly wealthier and Trump is acting like their bitch.

A very interesting read, how the liberal media (not lamestream) can not see the wood for the trees when it comes not to Trump, but to lazy categorization of his supporters. Something I am also guilty of.
