It's a well known secret that the leader of the Westboro Baptist Church is a closet homosexual.

Is that not an oxymoron?

It certainly is......

I thought that too Dinny. Another example of that sort of sh1te that is turning me more and more off soccer. Once, just once, I'd love to see the like of that lad at the bottom of a ruck on a wet Saturday out in Clifford Park or somewhere. They don't know they're born.

Have to agree AZ,it is becoming more and more difficult to identify with.

Irish News readership in Kilkenny at an all time high.

I'm sure come the 3rd week of September when KK are down at half time in the AI final that very same photo wil be produced to spur on the Cats to victory...

I was referring to the Kilkenny people at the match, i found it a bit surprising.

Was chatting to a player - seemingly Cody came into the dressing room and was very complimentary of Antrim's style of hurling and their workrate at this time of year.

Also I believe the bus journey up home was a calm affair will no one getting carried away and generally there was a level headed approach to the win.
Both things good to hear.

I noticed in the Irish News today a photo of three players posing for a photo with their arms aloft after the match, i wonder what the Kilkenny people made of that. Can you imagine players from Limerick, Cork, Galway etc doing this after winning a match in January?

very good win for for spurs, They deserved it. I thought the 3rd goal was the clincher. If we had got one back at that stage they may have imploded. But they were by far the hungerier sharper team -  Important to refocus now as newcastle in the cup at the weekend.
on a plus side that was a screamer adebayor got!

Aye it was some dig he hit Bendtner alright......

they gave us what they knew, he was found face down with prescription pills scattered near him & they came to the conclusion - "foul play is not suspected" !

The police have rubbished that, they said there were no pills scattered round the bed.
There was prescription medication in the apartment, but sure that could mean in the bathroom closet.
Who doesnt have prescription medication of some sort somewhere in their house.

I see the tabloids are wating to see what happened, one headline today read "Heath dies of OD"  ::)

RIP

Not strictly true, the NYPD said they were found "near the body"

I think everyone would agree with your sentiment regarding the daughter. I'm sure no one cares about what you're opinion is regarding his actual death

I am not seeking approval.

Was it an overdose? If so im not sure if you can describe it as "tragic", a waste perhaps. Was the "masseuse appointment" an analogy for a hooker?

You don't happen to work for the Sun by any chance?

As always with these things - an autopsy report will arrive in due course and explain if it was an overdose and whether or not it was an accidental overdose (he was ill with pneumonia apparently) or suicide.

No i dont but i will not be mourning him as some sort of second coming of Marlon Brando/Gandhi,as seems to be the norm when someone in the entertaiinment industry dies. My overiding emotion is pity for his two year old daughter.

Interesting article on ESPN..........

The Roger Clemens Award for "Best story that was ignored by the national media"
The great Brett Favre completely collapsed in the Giants-Packers game, throwing multiple balls up for grabs, single-handedly killing his team, and then everyone gave him the kid gloves treatment afterward. Favre had an incredible season and exceeded everyone's expectations. It was a wonderful ride, but come on. Didn't Troy Aikman and Joe Buck have to discuss Favre's Level 5 stinkbomb during the telecast beyond just alluding to it a couple of times? What about Peter King, who didn't even mention Favre's grisly performance in his normally comprehensive MMQB column? With all the breaks Green Bay got in that game, if Favre had given his team even a C-plus, the Pack would have won. You know he was bad when the Giants planned on kicking off in OT even if they won the coin flip.

(Note: The media spent four months spoon-feeding us this urban legend that Favre wasn't a gunslinger anymore, he was managing games now, he wasn't going to kill his team by taking dumb chances -- I wrote about how dumb this story line was as far back as Week 4 -- when the reality was Favre was playing the same way he always did, only he was playing exceptionally well and had better teammates. Unfortunately, for Packers fans, that minus-4 weather ended up freezing his Fountain of Youth and he killed their Super Bowl hopes. In my opinion, Favre never changed the way he played this season. Not even one iota. He just played well until Week 19. Which reminds me ...)

You mean "has been ruled out". Did they bring on their expert on Hollywood Deaths and author of the book "FAME SEX DRUGS and DEATH in HOLLYWOOD"?

They were just ripping the arse out of it as usual, they gave us what they knew, he was found face down with prescription pills scattered near him & they came to the conclusion - "foul play is not suspected" !
