BA Can I ask why the two Comerfords dont kick football with ballyroan, such wasted talent in Junior Football.

Killeen and Kilcruise looked very old last year, I fear they will both eventually wilt away if they dont sew up old wounds.

The big winners in all of this would be the Castletowns, portlaoise, Harps, Rosenalis, Balyfin, Shanahoe etc as it would free up another spot in the 8 Senior teams. It would shake up Laois Hurling, also as the big 4 of Camross, R/E, C/Ballacolla and B/Kilcotton have dominated for a decade. Adding a 5th "Powerhouse" if you will has its pros and cons. For everyone saying that it will destroy small rural clubs, I ask do the likes of Kyle or Balipickas really worry about a Camross or Ballacollas first team ever??? So what difference should this make? I've no affiliation with either club and am actually from one of the Big 4 but I think it would improve the competition. If only the Arles Kileen/Kilcruise of this world would swallow their  pride also and maybe the football wouldn't be the foregone conclusion it has become over the last decade.

Are these coaching courses free of charge or expensive? Maybe some lads are put off by high pricing as in other counties. What is the breakdown of these costs?

A lot of Camross players found out over the weekend,
Dean Delaney -  non existent
 Tomas Burke - Nothing
 Collier midfield - passenger
and even Joe Phelan - looked poor for a county corner back.

Seemed reluctant to go short with puckouts even though NE had dropped very deep, best performers were Zane and big Lorcan Burke wing back. .. How Conor McDonald was left 1v1 in 20 yards of space for 40 mins is anyones guess.

Just a quick question, with S.Bloom now competing in the Senior "A" rank does this mean the Gaels with Castletown is automatically null and void or does it have to go to a CB vote? Im aware 2 "senior" teams cant be a Gaels but can they appeal it??

Anyone else hear the stories coming out from Camrose that D. Dooley was asked not to hurl in the Leinster by management in the wake of the controversy. Seemingly this has led to a players revolt in a "if he doesn't play we won't either" standoff... Hardly ideal preparation for a Leinster run.

Laois / Laois Senior Hurling Draw
« on: March 09, 2018, 11:29:01 PM »
Group A
Abbeyleix
Borris KK
Balyfin Gaels
Ballinakill

Group B
Clough Ballacolla
Rathdowney-Errill
Camross
Castletown-Slieve Bloom

Bit of a lobsided draw?? The mountain men have their work cut out to get a few scalps to make the quarter finals. Anyone have any thoughts on the draw/new format.

Apologies folks I was in Spain the last week! Id like to go on record and say to BallyroanAbu it was only a slight jest at him, whoever said the starstruck thing about Clancy and that whole paragraph was out of order, hes a passionate man at the end of the day and I respect him. Also it seems I may have been right about Sugru or at least my sources were!!

Who does everyone want to get relegated? Portlaoise or Castletown it is a win win for the neutrals and there will certainly be no love lost on the banks or between the white lines .

The Heath typically cant put back to back performances in championship. I am delighted they lost as all they did was filter men back (which every team does) but they then didnt break out when in possession. They had so much of the ball around the 45 and D area but not one forward was able to stand up or do something different. Any big team will lick their lips are getting the Heath the next round. To blow a 5 point lead while playing defensive is utterly inexcusable & I am sick of the same failings for this crop. RANT OVER

Colt conceded to the Harps in the Div 1B final tonight. It is very poor form out of them. I think they are complaining about fixture congestion with their junior hurlers playing 2 matches in the last five days and they have one or two in with the Balyroan footballers. I still feel it is terrible form to concede a final and it takes the joy away from the Harps who looked on paper to deserve the title anyways. Anyone shed further light on this??

Clough Ballacolla missing Willie Dunphy & Picky limped off today. Willie Hyland will probably go back into forwards now after spending the league at centre back. Cha also missing for first round as is PJ Scully, a shame that the best forwards in the county are unavilable.
