Hold it up to the 2 big lads... Utd haven't changed that much the last few years!!
Apart from Barcelona what team doesn't go route one in the final few mins when a goal behind? On the balance of play and chances created United deserved at least a draw.

Between midfield options and forwards Galway have good strength in depth however defensive options and goalkeepers are not as strong as they should be for a county with a pick as big as Galway.

Early season training looks like they are going all out to retain the FBD title and to finally gain promotion back to division one.

Knew a draw was written all over that game. Much better game than the Anfield encounter earlier in the season though as it could easily have finished 3-3 as both goalkeepers pulled off top class saves. Liverpool will no doubt end the season in the top 4 if United don't the home draws will be the killer.

Sligo beat donegal 2-13 to 2-7 today in the north west cup.
Don't know how many players were missing from both sides but an away win v donegal is always a bonus for us.  Maybe some of the college success is starting to show at the u21 level
Another good win for Sligo tonight.

Sligo 2-5 Mayo 0-10

We have been awful but seems we've gone through about 40 players in the 3 games.
Add in shoestring budget, a rookie manager appointed at the tail end of the year (when all other candidates withdrew) plus 2 poor minor teams in 14 and 15 we're in severe danger of losing all 4 competitive games.
Ah well.....
Hastings cup could have shield section yet. 3rd v 4th and 4th v 3rd in the groups fare off for a place in the shield final.

it was 1980 when the rossies tried to set up that club long before Johnos reign in the larries county.
Tried again in the early 90s I recall the commotion. Johno for a KIlmovee man was very vocal about the situation at the time. Larries are longford BTW and I don't think he managed them yet.

First attempt was in 1962 when the case was brought to the provincial council. Ross lost that one, 4-1. I think the case for setting up a junior club was brought to the council in 1986 and Sligo voted with Ross on that.
There are plenty of theories put forward to explain why Sligo changed sides this time but it's pointless speculating at this stage. Some pro-Mayo folks in Ballagh told me it was part of a deal between the two counties that would allow Sligo use the Hyde for Connacht finals, amongst other things.
I don't remember the issue coming up again in the 90s but then I wouldn't have been too bopthered about it, one way or the other.
I do know that the situation at present is that it would need a two thirds vote of the Central Council to move Ballagh from Mayo to Ross.

I don't think anyone want that actually. Either (a) a club based in Ballagh be allowed to affiliate to Roscommon county board and/or (b) players with Ballagh be allowed play for Roscommon should they so wish.

And I think many will forever be curious to know why Galway,Leitrim voted against this from happening.

Right back to the topic of the thread. What will likely happen on Sunday.

Leitrim who always peak for this competition to push experimental Galway side all the way.

Sligo to win pulling up against GMIT

Roscommon to be given a tough examination by NUIG but will sneak the win.

A mostly 3rd string Mayo line up to maul IT Sligo.

Sky hyping Sundays game to its max. Another boring 0-0 on the cards which will probably suit Liverpool more.

Liverpool have been poor and unimaginative in the last 3 games now. Sunderland, Plymouth and Southampton. If they are similar on Sunday, they'll lose at least 2-0.
Near full strength United were far from great against a injury hit hull side in poor form on Tuesday night. And United have already dropped points this season at home to the likes of Stoke and Burnley.

I think Sundays game has a draw written all over it. Hopefully it's a decent game though with a few goals and not another borefest like the Anfield meeting in mid October.

I don't think we would be in good shape whoever won.  Not accepting donations from people who have funded you for years just because you are Presitdent doesn't mean their influence goes away J70 - lets be honest here. She wouldn't have been good for the country - its why she lost and Trump won. I don't think he won because people think he is great  - the democrats put forward their worst candidate and lost.

So instead of arguing back and forth American citizens and us Eireannach living over here need to focus on local government surely? If the politicial system was working properly here the POTUS shouldn't have all the power. Work at the local level, then the state level and change what you can instead of everyone pouring energy in to arguing over he said she said..

What democrat candidate would have beaten Trump? More to the point will any democrat candidate be able to stop him from becoming re-elected in 4 years time?

This is not that I think Trump is great he is arguably the biggest buffoon to walk into the Whitehouse however it's his online campaign to paint his candidates in the worst possible light and the now obvious help from the Russians that has his president in a few a few weeks and for the next 8 years.

Great to see that Ross Donovan has reversed the trend and has come out of inter-county retirement.  One of the toughest defenders in the country and its great to see him back.
Did he officially retire or take a year out? Sligos neighbors Donegal are going through a major transitional phase with I think 8 of last years panel either retired or taking time out.

Are Offaly in the 80s the last county with a population of less than 80,000 to reach All Ireland senior final?

The January dominance of the Rossies continues .Already have 5 .19 on the board v Sligo IT

Time to shorten  the Inter County season to one minth ;D
Farce today (and in Mohill too it seems) but you can only play what's put in front of you.
We were direct and always on the move but as a contest the game didn't  last 10 minutes and it's use to management is certainly questionable. At least the players got a bit of exercise.
I suppose it's one for the statisticians - did Ros ever score that much in  an OfficialCompetition game?

Connacht 1980 Quarter-final, Roscommon, 919. London 110
