What a game. Full blooded but not many dirty strokes. It was tit for tat right up till the last 3 minutes after Waterfords strong start. Tipp will get their day in the sun yet, It was Waterfords time, this team deserves an All-Ireland final appearance at the least.

But I just dont know if they can live with killkenny. but I'll be cheering them all the way.

Tyrone wanted it more. They fought harder for it, sprinting to every ball where as the Dublin lads were almost jogging. The off-the-ball running from the Tyrone players seemed to totally confuse the Dubs. Dooher gave a great performance today. The Tyrone forwards found it alot easier to get separation from their markers, some of the Dublin backs look very tame in 1 to 1 situations. That also was key. Tyrone backs were never going 1 to 1. The swarm tackling and counter attack worked perfectly and Dublin played into it hook-line-and-sinker. Tyrones forwards were able to hit the target and Dublin couldnt hit the side of a barn, They really needed Alan Brogan.

On a side note, theres a worrying trend of beards in Tyrone this year.

I think some need to get into their heads that a united Ireland will only come about through democratic process. It will never and never was going to happen with violence. It would not be recognised in the EU or NATO and even the Republic would be unable to unify with a state that was created through such means.

If you dont like how Sinn Fein are doing things you should as constituants ask more from your local elected officials to change not beat them up and take up other forms of criminality as two fingers to the authorities. They have to, to get votes. You could also set up your own political party and take your version of Republicanism to the people.

You could become more active in your community and perhaps join a local community group to voice your concerns to the MLAs and demand action from them. Intimidation, violence and other anti-social behavior will only undermine any hope of Republicanism being taken seriously as can be seen here, being called scumbags, hoodlums, thugs, spides, ASBO's, no different to the ones in Dublin, Limerick, London, Glasgow and Birmingham.

Democracy can deliver a united Ireland if people are patient and use their democratic power. It can only happen if places like Dunclug become functioning, safe and crime free communtities. If people show how good things can be, not tearing it apart with violence, drugs and fear. If thats all that happens Dunclug will remain/become what people on this forum have described it as "a gangland shit-hole"

 >:( This has really pissed me off. I said this over 2 years ago that the GAA needs to have some kind legislation and disciplinary procedures for incidents of racism. It was inevitable that with increased numbers of people from different ethnic groups playing GAA that some thick c***ts are going to be racially abusing players. Of course we'll probably have Nicky Brennan going, "Oh we've never encountered this type a thing before".

Anyone racially abusing another player should get suspended for a year, anyone giving racist abuse form the sidelines should be ejected from the stadiums and banned form attending games. Any adults racially abusing or encouraging racist behavior at an underage game should be given a lifetime ban from the GAA and teams should be fined  and thrown out of competitions.

There should also a anti-racist campaign set up by the GAA just like "Give racism the boot" that should be promoted in all stadia around the country and backed by the players in ad campaigns and displays before matches. A very VERY clear message needs to be sent by the GAA that racism will not be tolerated in any form.

Also people need to grow a pair of balls and and stand up to confront people being racist at games. It makes it easier if decent people group together to have these people removed, because if only one person does it these ignoramuses will no doubt turn on them.

GET RACISM OUT OF THE GAA

It all started in college. One of my 1st days in college we were playing indoor football and I put in a tackle on a fella, who as it turned out was a great player but since that day wasnt the player he used to be due to persistant knee problems. I got the name 'Bruce' after bruce lee, after yer man I tackled described what I had done to him.

But Bruce became The Juice when they learned of my fondness for a drop o' the craetúr and the black stuff.

My biggest problem with alot of the Gaelic gloves I've used so far are that the grips go to bits very quickly. If you grab a lads jersey like you shouldnt but do anyway, and he pulls out of it, the grips go to bits or even grabbing at the ball in an opponents hands. I've been just going with my bare hands ever since.

But I know what kids are like, they want all the gear. The important thing would be to teach them how to catch properly as well as getting the gloves, that will make more of a difference to em'

Yeah, Im not sure what you want people to do. It would be deeply saddening for anyone to see that but what can they do.

...its an ugly rumour or (perhaps lie would be a better word) that dogged Graham through his career. It was an awful stain on his character despite it being rubbished as tabloid garbage by his family.

.......according to the Independant have both retired,

So I'd like to thanks them on their services to Meath football over the years and the huge part they played in bringing A-I glory to us in '96 and '99. Darren was the foundation of the best defense in the country during those years and even in more recent times was an immense figure. Even during the ensuing lean years his performances were still gutsy and determined as ever.

As for Graham, well theres no shortage highlights. His points against Cork in 99 or the way he tore through the Tyrone defense in 96 and again last year with his flick of the ball over the keepers head. His battles with the Dubs over the years and the 'affection' he recieved from Hill 16 was always amusing. Especially when he broke their hearts. His partnership with Ollie Murphy was also something special. Together they were the talking point of 2001, especially the way they scrambled a draw from the jaws of defeat against Westmeath with a goal from Ollie that was made on the understanding they had of each other.

So to Darren and Graham thanks for the memories and your always welcome back if you think you've got it in you!!!

Wouldnt mind Sean Boylan coming back. but a new face might be the way to go, looking at who's having success around the country. Im not sure who outside the county could do it.
